underground cable detection
The need to detect electric power cables buried underground frequently arises when excavations are required onsite.
Even when buried cables are identified with surface markers it is possible for them to have moved due to soil erosion and periods of wet weather. Old records may not be accurate as the cables may have been moved since the documents were recorded but not updated.
It can be very expensive to repair an accidentally damaged cable with repair team costs and loss of earnings during the repair process. It can be fatal to strike a buried cable. Countless people have been injured through striking buried cables. Many of these could be avoided with prior scan detection and visible identification marking of all buried cables.
